Oracle ā’pěks is a great tool to create enterprise web applications that match our customer’s requirements. A good example is one of our products: the service CRM. For those of you who are not familiar with this acronym, a CRM is a Customer Relationship Management tool. Most companies use this type of solutions when it comes to handling their business contacts, either external and/or internal staff. However, the enterprise world always has special requirements when it comes to workflows. One of the main attractive points of ā’pěks is how versatile it is. It makes possible to rapidly implement our customers’ requirements in their working software solution using this well-known framework.

Before stepping into details about this app, we’d like to point out how we proceeded for this app development. One of our customers, who are very strong in the services industry, wanted to get rid of the non-custom solution which did not really fit into their business processes. To accomplish their goals with regard to functionality; we were developing the system together with them, to make a tailored solution for their business. By combining their business knowledge, and our technical know-how the new solution increased their efficiency by optimizing their business processes.

The central element of the system is the “Customer”. Everything turns around this central element, and we can easily access most of the relevant information within a few clicks. With that in mind, all the resources available for the employees or administrators help to get rid of the usual overload and just focus on Customers’ requests. Once we configure the solution to fit the company requirements, the daily work becomes very intuitive. In this industry, employees need to make very repetitive tasks that take huge amounts of time. However, if we automatize those procedures it’s easy to become much more productive. Just by doing our work removing all that extra overload, we can save a lot of time and resources!

We can also track big amounts of information using this application. From there, we can extract a great value from our strong or weak points by overviewing intuitive and practical dashboards. Apart from traditional reports with all the information, we can also find generic dashboards and personal control panels summarizing all that information. Those elements greatly help to organize the daily work by using automatic notifications, shared agenda integration,, and some other features. We can process a payment from a customer, generate the corresponding receipt or invoice if required and make it accessible online for him in just one click, helping with saving both time and resources for everyone.

flexibility in adapting to us

“Services” is something that could become very generic. But instead of being a problem, we used that ambivalence to define a very flexible way of using this app. As this product was created based on the customer’s requirement for a tailored solution, we created a database structure that could accommodate future changes easily. Not only for future needs but also to adapt it to different processes. If we want to jump into a different management tool, we assume we would need to change many things during the onboarding process. However, that’s not how it should be. Just because of its natural flexibility, almost all companies can integrate this app into their daily routines in a very natural way. There’s almost no learning curve and the benefits can be seen from day one.

Not all customers can have the same requirements. For that reason, we created the core system with great capabilities to be extended easily. We can increase the functionality of this product by creating new pieces of functionality to be incorporated under demand.

  • One of the most useful modules is the Client Portal (of which we have already spoken about). Customers really notice how helpful is once they start using it. All the customer’s information is accessible to them, so they don’t even need to visit our offices. They can exchange documents, track transactions or overview the status of the work in progress, track previous services offered… Not so long ago, the entire interface has been redesign to accommodate the upgrowing use of mobile devices. This app is a completely responsive development that saves lots of resources to everyone.
  • A sCRM contains lots of information, and a great resource to explode is Contacts. There’s also a solution that we can add to the main app focus on Newsletters and/or Marketing Campaigns. It will be quite easy for us to create a general newsletter for all our customers in the system. But also, we can run marketing campaigns to try to seel more services, as we can also handle potential, active or old customers in one place.
  • Services industry covers other areas very often. The flexibility of our system allowed us to incorporate a module to handle properties. Just because we can also incorporate real estate information from our customer’s portfolio. It was really easy to add some new features to track the sales and/or rental process of a property on behalf of our clients. Just by adding some extra pieces of information in this new module, it is easy to display those properties for sale or renting at a web portal in very few clicks. We can also advertise the properties available for sale or renting in popular sales web portals while working and tracking all that information in one place.

The main advantage of using these additional modules when required is that we only need to handle everything in one place. Everything will use the same interface, and thanks to the permissions structure, administrators can restrict the access to certain areas in a couple of clicks.

Oracle ā’pěks is a great tool that allows us to create custom solutions for our customers in little time. Regarding this product, it’s a very good solution that can fit in most of the (services focused or not) companies. After a few development cycles, reviews and some different customers using it, we face a much more mature app. It’s very easy for us to accommodate upcoming changes rapidly. No software can (or even should) last forever. However, from our experience, there are some approaches during the development process that can help to make it last long enough.
